i was brought up by fanatical jw parents and dropped out at 15, had a fling with it before armageddon (1975), just in case, but during that time we married and she took to the jws like a duck to water.
i dropped out.

Eyebrow, did it surprise to learn about the org's association with the UN? What was your reaction, surprised or not surprised?
How many Bible characters can you cite besides Joseph and Daniel playing prominent roles in government positions? Why the entire nation of Israel became political when they requested a king from Samuel. Samuel was distressed over this request. Jehovah told Samuel that it wasn't him that they rejected, but Jehovah himself. Give them a king he said and they paid the price.
How about the Sanhedrin? I get the feeling that the org. will use you for its purposes and if you don't follow their rules they'll discard you. I've seen a number of good working brothers get the boot. What compensation and help did they get for all their years of service? Have you ever spoken to any that had such an experience?

Lady Lee. The norm is that JW are not in politcs. We have a local poltician that was raised by a JW parent. Just what influence certain people as JW have in politcs makes for good reading. Does the org. use certain people to do their bidding/influence?

got my forty,etc. question, so mother earth can swallow radioactive waste and testing, yet not be endangered? What has oil spills done to earth's creatures? Why are sea creatures being beached? I'm talking about conditions on a global scale with a global population at the same time! I'm not talking about sporadic earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, nature takes care of its own. What man takes from the earth he gives back scrap that cannot be recycled. Look at the used tires and scrap cars. Where are all the scrap airplanes parked? Recycled, yes to make other man-made products, but for mother earth, is it natural and useful?
We have a local proprietor who has allowed chemical dumping on his property. Why, for E.T. it would be home for him, he would be in a constant glow! We have another property owner that every once in awhile a fire is suddenly ignited.
You wouldn't need environmental laws if man respected mother earth. Have you read about the deformed frogs in the mid-west? Sure the earth can take care of itself just like your body, the question is how long must man continue ruining the earth? Keep feeding your body junk and see what happens to it. Sure the earth is amazing, does this mean that we should keep feeding it junk and it will take care of itself? Oh, the enviromental laws will correct the situation, yeah right, just like more laws would make man moral!

I want to thank Lady Lee & Voyager for this great material, of course Kent. I'm going to print it out and have a copy given to my young elder brother. I'm involved with local politics. Hmmmm just wondering what he would say, besides he sits as an occasional judge in town. The difference is, he's a JW and I'm an ex., anyways we got both bases covered.

Rev. 11:18, "...God will bring to ruin those ruining the earth..." I could understand this scripture to mean the earth being ruined on a 'global' scale, not a regional area. How is mother earth being treated today on an international scale?

Ever feel like you just wanna chuck it all in.....?
by ScoobySnax inok i'm whinging here, but have you ever felt that way about your job/career?
take today, i'm supposed to be on pa (holiday) from my job, but got called in this morning, turned up on my ward, and ended up staying all day to support the nurses in the team.
we had 3 cardiac arrests, 1 psychotic patient who was threatening to stab someone, and the usual abusive relatives, who can't seem to see beyond themselves and what they expect.

SS., my youngest sister is visiting her daughter in the SanDiego, like you she works as a nurse in the emergency ward. She wonders how she makes it. She has two children, working to be a nutritionists, I guess that's her ultimate goal, I never asked. Yes, she hands her full especially in the emergency ward. My oldest son is back in the construction trade. He worked as a paramedic and it was just draining. So, from these experiences I have idea what your going through. I hope things work out for you. Personally, I enjoy work, short rests (power naps) and being alone charges up my batteries.
I think when you consider all things and the pressures of life, chucking it all in is a given. A good rest and good company makes a world of difference. I hope you find your comfort zone.

they were saying that jehovah can be your best friend, and you have to view him as a real person.. even when i was a jw, i could never buy into this crap.
how can you develope a relationship if there's only communication one way?

As I said, in my culture the word 'Sonkwaiatison' (Mohawk) differs with the title, God, it's personal not abstract. I do not fear any wrath or condemnation from my Creator. My respect for my Creator is the same respect I have for my mother and father. I do not call my parents by their first names. I have a personal attachment.
I have no objection if people make Donald Duck or Bugs Bunny their God. Do you agree that we must believe in something even if that means ourselves? Respecting peoples opinions and beliefs is a customary thing for me. You gotta agree that this topic can go on forever, as I say, to each their own.

Yes, I have a relationship with my Creator. I give him thanks everyday for another day of life. How does he answer me, nature with all it's LIFE, it speaks to me and I listen.
You say he doesn't exist? Well, let me tell you something, I've performed many helpful services for people who EXIST and you know what, some never said thank you. I have been let down many times and I will continue to be let down by people, but I will never give up in having faith in my Creator!
The kind of God you talk about it is not the same as my Creator. In my culture we don't call him God but rather, 'One who made us.' To each their own.
